About Us
Our Story
Zeez Beez started out as a family business back in 2013. What was originally a swarm caught in a hessian bag has now grown to over 250 hives, which we travel with all over the state.
Whilst we are only small commercial migratory beekeepers, we love what we do, and we strive to keep both our bees and our honey as natural as possible.
Our raw, unprocessed honey is obtained from as far south as Northcliffe, as far north as Dongara, and as far east as Norseman. We pride ourselves as "flower chasers" (not storm chasers!) — chasing flowers is what brings both our girls and our customers the freshest and sweetest honey.
We hope you enjoy our honey as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.

Migratory Beekeeping
We started out as hobbyist beekeepers, but it didn't take long for us to fall for these fascinating creatures. Over the years we've come to realise that bees are a very much needed part of everyone's life — in other words, we can't live without them.
That first hive in our front yard has slowly grown into a working migratory apiary of around 250 hives that travels with the season across Western Australia.
100% Pure Honey
Our honey is raw, unprocessed and cold-extracted, which means it hasn't undergone any heat treatment. We bring it straight from the hive to you, taking the utmost care, with most of the extracting jobs being done by hand. We then jar all our honey, where possible, in glass jars, maintaining its deliciously fresh and natural taste. We know you'll love our honey as much as we do.
Bees
Like most beekeepers, we work with the Italian bee. This variety is used because of its less aggressive nature compared to others such as the African bee. They're characterised by their distinct black and yellow bands, usually three on the abdomen. Some of the golden Italians have very few — or even no — black bands.
Honey
Western Australia has a wide range of large gums — jarrah, red gum (marri), various types of wattle, hakes and parrot bush, to name just a few. It truly is a lovely place for the bees, and it leads to a wonderful variety in taste and colour of honey.
Workshops (currently paused)
We love teaching others about bees and their great importance, and have previously run regular hands-on workshops during the summer months. Workshops are currently paused — please check back, or get in touch if you'd like to register your interest for when they resume.
